Renewal candidates must demonstrate the maintenance of a 2.0 GPA or better for consideration. The student must be in good standing with the school and eligible for continuation in their program of study. If selected, a student may receive the Amy Wasserman Scholarship for up to four years. Students may request to renew each year for continued funding. – Graduated from a Tempe Union High School or attended Nevitt Elementary School. If a student can not complete the FAFSA other income indicators will be used. – Demonstrate high financial need based on the FAFSA process. – Attending any post secondary institution after high school graduation including 2 year, 4 year, vocational and technical schools. – Preference for previous recipients of the Wasserman Scholarship. The Amy Wasserman Scholarship Fund will provide financial aid for students who attended school in Tempe School Districts, with a preference for students that attended Nevitt Elementary School. In order to be considered for renewal the student must be in good standing with the school and eligible for continuation, and the student must submit a school transcript and one page essay describing the highs and lows of the previous academic year. Previous recipients will be contacted via email during the spring semester with instructions on how to request renewed funding. Spikes Scholarship may be renewed for up to four years, based on satisfactory progress made as determined by enrollment. – Student may be enrolled less than full-time – Student must be seeking to enroll in any type of post-secondary education at any type of school (vocational, 2-year or 4-year school in the U.S.) – Student must be a resident of the town of Bowie, Arizona or be a graduating senior from Bowie High School (may consider students who live in nearby area and graduate from Bowie High OR live in Bowie and graduate from Wilcox or San Simon High Schools) Lathram is proud to honor her grandparents’ dedication to education with the goal to provide support for graduating high school students of Bowie, Arizona, to attend a post-secondary education institution.
